Q. What are the system requirements for Small Tool Tracking?

A. Single User

        Minimum: Windows XP, Windows 2000, Vista; 512mb memory; 50mb hard disk space; 800x600 SVGA display

        Recommended:Windows XP, Windows 2000, Vista; 1gb memory; 100mb disk space; 800x600 SVGA display

     Peer-to-Peer Server:  Windows XP, Windows 2000, Vista; 1gb memory; 100mb disk space; 800x600 SVGA display

     Dedicated Server:  Windows 2000 server, Windows 2003 server, 1gb memory, 400mb disk space

Q. In what order do I build my lists?

A. It is important to remember that you cannot enter your lists of Tools until you have created your Tool Class list. Start to build your lists in the Tool Class tab in the Edit Lists window. Once you have created your Tool Class list, you can enter your Tools (in the Tool tab) in the order you choose. After entering Tool Classes and Tools, create your User list in the User tab.

Q. What is the difference between Tool Class and Tool ID?

A. A Tool Class (which is created in the Tool Class tab of the Edit Lists window) is used to define a category of tools, for example: Saw, Hammer and so forth. A Tool ID (created in the Tool tab of the Edit Lists window) is used to identify an individual tool, for example: saw16, hammer12 and so forth.

Q. What is the difference between Class ID and Class Description?

A. A Class ID is a code representing a group of tools, whereas a Class Description is a full title for the Class ID. For example, Sawcir and Sawjig could be two Class IDs, and their respective Class Descriptions could be Circular Saws and Jig Saws.

Q. How do I add the first tool to my list?

A. While in the Tool tab of the Edit Lists window, click on the + button of the List Navigator. This will put the list in insert mode, allowing you to enter all fields on the Tool tab. Once you have entered the necessary information, click on the check button to post the entry. Click on the + button again when you are ready to add the next tool. Click on the Help button on the Tool Bar and choose the List Navigator option to learn more about the buttons on the List Navigator.

Q. How can I check out multiple tools at the same time?

A. Hold the Ctrl key on your keyboard and click each tool.

Q. How many tools can I enter into the list?

A. There is no limit to the number of tools you can enter into the list. Likewise, there is no limit to the number of Tool Classes and Users.
