What is ProfiTRAC?

ProfiTRAC is a construction accounting system designed specifically for builders, contractors, subcontractors and others in the construction industry. ProfiTRAC is designed to meet the requirements of, not just of the bookkeeping department, but the owner, project manager, estimator and auditor as well.

For the Bookkeeper

At the basic bookkeeping level, the system tasks include the posting of invoices to all ledgers in an integrated fashion so that multiple entry of the same data is not required. Whether it's an invoice in payables or time in payroll, one entry does it all. Additionally, all sub-ledgers are posted as the general ledger is posted making it virtually impossible for the books to get out of balance, and the bookkeeper is saved the time of searching for balance errors.

For the Accountant and Auditor

A thorough audit trail and year-to-date ledger make the auditor's job easier. Tracing specific entries from ledger to journal is simple with ProfiTRAC's unique journal posting reference. And with the year-to-date ledger, analyzing an account is a snap.

For Project Managers and Estimators

The project manager's and estimator's tasks are also aided primarily by the Job Cost Module which produces a variety of job cost reports. The cost records are updated every time the bookkeeping department posts any information to the ledger and each time a payroll cycle is completed. Thus, for project managers, job cost reports are current and may be printed on demand. For the estimator ProfiTRAC provides an on-going accumulation of actual costs and their relationship to the original cost estimate. Anyone who spends as much time estimating a job deserves to know how his assumptions fared. Job cost gives you accurate and timely answers allowing for interim and final review to determine estimating accuracy and to make adjustments for future estimates.

For the Owner

Computer accounting systems are often purchased based upon the needs of the accounting department. However, while ProfiTRAC provides strong support for the bookkeeper, it meets the needs of the owner as well. It furnishes the owner with a continual review of the performance of each project and the effect that all jobs have on the company's financial statement. Additionally, the Job Cost Module prints a Schedule of Jobs in Progress for your bonding company aiding you in maintaining that all important relationship. The Accounts Payable Module aids the owner tremendously in the important task of cash management. This module gives the owner a picture of unpaid invoices by due date, job or vendor and of receivable invoices and retainage. Furthermore, discounts offered are tracked right up to the time the check is written insuring that important discounts are taken in a timely way.
